Creative Industries Week at the Legislature is celebrating British Columbia’s vibrant music and sound recording industry—bringing together industry associations, businesses, artists, creators, and key stakeholders with government for a special showcase event. As Canada’s third-largest hub for music production, B.C. is home to a diverse and dynamic talent pool of artists, business professionals, recording studios, and independent and major labels.

The music and sound recording industry plays an essential role in B.C.’s broader creative ecosystem—providing the soundtracks, stages, and synergies that connect with film, television, and digital media. This expansive and interconnected industry continues to demonstrate its cultural, community, and economic value through the success of its award-winning artists, producers, and companies.

2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for music in British Columbia, with the province hosting two of Canada’s most prestigious music events. On March 30, Vancouver welcomed the 2025 JUNO Awards at Rogers Arena, where host Michael Bublé led a night of unforgettable performances, including a farewell set from Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees Sum 41. Looking ahead, Kelowna is set to host the 2025 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards on September 13 at Prospera Place, marking the city’s first time hosting Country Music Week. These major events underscore B.C.’s vibrant music scene and its growing prominence on the national stage.
