#WatchBC Films at TIFF

B.C. films are no stranger to accolades and prestigious screenings, and this year local productions are upholding #BCFilm’s prestigious reputation at TIFF.

The 49th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival returns September 5-15, 2024, and has announced its full lineup of Galas and Special Presentations. Films with ties to B.C. include:

HERETIC

Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ HERETIC will be premiering at TIFF. This film was shot in British Columbia.

 

PAYING FOR IT

Sook-Yin Lee’s PAYING FOR IT is premiering at TIFF. While the film takes place in Toronto, filmmaker, musician, and actor, Sook-Yin Lee hails from Vancouver. PAYING FOR IT  connects the past with the present, bringing together Canadian underground artists and innovative cross-generational musicians in a cultural snapshot of turn-of-the-millennium Toronto in Paying For It.

CAN I GET A WITNESS

TIFF will be the world premiere for Ann Marie Fleming’s CAN I GET A WITNESS. This production was funded by Creative BC.
