Storytelling is at the center of British Columbia’s creative industries. Through storytelling, we gain insights into one another and the issues that matter to us. Podcasts serve as a creative avenue to facilitate this understanding. Although it’s not always easy to determine the geographic locations of podcast hosts, British Columbia is home to a diverse range of podcasts. Covering topics from housing and farming to the latest sports news, many B.C.-based podcasts cater to a variety of listeners.
To help support B.C. podcasters, Creative BC and STORYHIVE have both launched funding programs to help grow and develop B.C.’s podcasting community. STORYHIVE’s Video Podcast program is now open for applications, if you’re interested in developing your own B.C.-based podcast, apply by the end of January.
