Carter Hales Design Lab is a Vancouver based firm focusing on branding, packaging and digital graphic design. We’re a tight-knit team of smart, capable designers, strategists and project managers led by acclaimed graphic designer Sean Carter and account services veteran Ross Hales. Obsessively curious and creatively dexterous, we respond to design challenges with bold thinking and innovative solutions. We’re prolific and relentless about pushing ourselves to deliver exceptional work on every project. We value collaboration and self-awareness, in an atmosphere of high confidence and low ego.
Having started with two people in 2012, Carter Hales now employs 12 people.
Great design elevates brands. Poor design degrades them. The undesigned life is not worth living (acknowledgement to Socrates). Why not design as if everything depended on it? Why not design for greatness? Carter Hales helps businesses and organizations thrive through inspired design. We create brand identities, websites, and packaging solutions that illuminate the unique spirit and value of brands, and propel businesses forward.
Locally, our clients include YVR, TransLink, BC Place, City of Vancouver, BCAA and Genome BC. Internationally, Carter Hales recently rebranded the Lyndon Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas, followed by the design and development of its new website. Working with Muscle Marketing USA, now headquartered in Dubai, Carter Hales has recently extended its Middle East reach into Saudi Arabia. In Hong Kong, Carter Hales is working with a new specialty liquor brand that will launch in October 2015 (a non-disclosure agreement stops us from saying more).
So how is it that a new, small Vancouver branding agency has established significant A-list local clients and a growing reputation in the international branding community? The answer is obvious: delivering outstanding creative work while employing a considered and disciplined process that drives results for our clients. Our culture is intensely collaborative. The way we think, work and interact is open source. We embrace the abundance of opportunity generated by the free flow of knowledge and ideas. We listen, learn and think strategically about our client’s business.
