Whistler Film Festival Unveils First Titles in 2023 Lineup, Spotlighting B.C. Talent

The Whistler Film Festival (WFF) has announced the first Canadian titles in its 2023 lineup, with five films from British Columbia-based directors including three world premieres:

The Whistler Film Festival (WFF) has announced the first Canadian titles in its 2023 lineup, with five films from British Columbia-based directors including three world premieres:

  • ADAPTATION 2023 | Canada | Western Canada Premiere | Directed by Jake Thomas
  • ALTONA 2023 | Canada | World Premiere | Directed by The Affolter Brothers
  • WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN 2023 | Canada | British Columbia Premiere | Directed by Kim Albright (*WFF19 Screenwriters Lab project)
  • ZOE.MP4 2023 | Canada | World Premiere | Directed by Jeremy Lutter
  • SHE TALKS TO STRANGERS 2023 | Canada | World Premiere | Directed by Bruce Sweeney

Three out of the five titles will qualify for the prestigious Borsos Competition for Best Canadian Feature at WFF. This competition boasts a generous $35,000 prize package, including a $15,000 cash award from the Directors Guild of Canada, British Columbia, and a $20,000 production prize sponsored by Company 3.

The 23rd edition of the Whistler Film Festival + Content Summit is scheduled to be held in Whistler, BC, from November 29 to December 3, 2023. Following the in-person event, WFF will transition to an online format, offering select virtual screenings accessible throughout Canada from December 4 to December 17, 2023.
