Now in its 7th installment, the Tiny Lights Festival provides performance opportunities to over 140 BC artists and groups every year. This intimate three-day multidisciplinary arts and music festival is spread across 8 stages in Ymir and attracts over 1,200 people – tripling the town’s population for the festivities.
Aware of the magic that can be created in small rural towns in Canada, Tiny Lights Festival, now a non-profit, was founded by Shawn and Carla Stephenson. Both Shawn and Carla have worked in many facets of the BC music industry as musicians, performers, administrators and venue owners.
Small but mighty, this festival has proven to have a profound impact on emerging artists in BC, considering that many larger festivals look to Tiny Lights Festival’s lineup to educate themselves about rising talent. The week leading up to the 2018 Tiny Lights Festival, scheduled for June 8-10, Shawn and Carla will be offering a Sound School to train sound engineers in real time. This will provide sound enthusiasts the opportunity to acquire skills that sound people apply in real festival environments.
With only a limited number of tickets available for purchase, Tiny Lights Festival is on track for another sold-out year filed with high quality musical talent to enjoy.
