Creative Industries Week is an annual celebration and official proclamation of British Columbia’s dynamic creative sector. Now in its tenth year, it takes place during the week of April 14 to bring industry associations, key stakeholders, and creators together with the government for a showcase event at the Legislature’s Rotunda. In addition to the Minister’s Proclamation on behalf of the Government of British Columbia, the program features powerful multi-sector storytelling that demonstrates valuable contributions and investments driven by creativity, talent, and innovation.
Sector leaders, creators, innovators, and government partners come together to celebrate ten years of collaboration and decades of achievement in B.C.’s diverse, vibrant, and talent-driven creative economy. Creative Industries Week 2025 marks a decade of showcasing B.C.’s creative constellation in Victoria, reflecting on the past, present, and future of our shared story.
Across B.C., a diverse community of storytellers, creators, and companies delivers compelling content to the world through five dynamic industries: interactive and digital media, motion picture, music and sound recording, and book and magazine publishing.
B.C. is home to Canada’s second-largest English-language book publishing sector, one of the largest foreign motion picture centres in North America. Its interactive and digital media sector is a fast-growing economic engine, driving innovation and the skilled jobs of tomorrow through creative technology. Meanwhile, the music and sound recording industry is having a huge year as Vancouver hosted the 2025 JUNO Awards and the forthcoming 2025 Canadian Country Music Awards. Together, these industries shape culture, fuel innovation, and power B.C.’s creative economy.
