LUNA Fest is a three-day festival running from September 20 to 22nd presenting a lineup of musical talent, mesmerizing installation art, interactive performances, and family-friendly fun. LUNA Arts is a celebration of curated light, art, performance, and family-friendly fun that will transform the downtown Revelstoke core. The entire town comes out to play as the sun goes down.
LUNA Fest
The theme of this year’s LUNA Fest is “In Contrast.” Embracing the notion that comparison reveals both our differences and our connections, “In Contrast” invites attendees to explore the dynamic interplay of visible opposites. From the juxtaposition of large and small, sharp and blurry, to the interplay of light and dark, this year’s installations will deliberately highlight contrasts, sparking unexpected narratives and deeper contemplation. Seeking to create a space where discomfort and satisfaction intersect, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of art’s diverse perspectives and expressions, this is LUNA In Contrast.
Kicking off the LUNA Fest experience, LUNA Sound will stage a takeover of four downtown Revelstoke venues. Eleven of Canada’s best new music will invade Revelstoke on Friday, September 20th, 2024 featuring artists of all genres including KIMMORTAL, Featurette, iskwē, Tonye Aganaba, Della Kit, among others.
The LUNA Fest theme this year is In Contrast and the LUNA Sound line-up delivers on this in spades. In contrast to the industry norm, all the bands this year are female-forward, showcasing the incredible talent and diversity of women and non-binary musicians. Arts Revelstoke is excited to create this unique vibe for a more inclusive and equitable future.
Attendees can expect a vibrant mix of genres including indie pop, electro-soul, violin-driven bass music, R&B, neo-soul, jazz, hip-hop, electro-pop, experimental electronic, pop-rock, garage rock, and synthwave. Each stage will showcase a unique mix of diverse sounds, creating a dynamic night of music.
