Returning to the Orpheum stage is our favourite neighbourhood strings ensemble, Harmonia. In collaboration with Jade Music Fest, Van Lefan and Daniel Lew will perform their original songs and iconic songs that everyone can sing along to. Enjoy a night of music from a selection of genres and cultures.
LunarFest’s free concert is a chance for everyone to come together. Find stories in harmony and soar freely through the songs as the Year of the Dragon brings us good fortune and good thoughts!
February 15-16, 2024 | VIFF Centre – Vancity Theatre
Gathering together to watch movies is part of Lunar New Year tradition in some Asian cultures. VIFF hosts a selection of films that capture the spirit of family. Featuring films from Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and more, these stories will make you cry, laugh, and hold onto your loved ones just a little closer.

February 11 | Millennium Gate on Pender Street, Vancouver
Vancouver’s 50th Chinatown Spring Festival Celebration is set to captivate the city this Spring! Anticipated to draw a crowd of 100,000 spectators, the highlight of the event is a grand 1.3 km parade. It will feature an impressive array of cultural groups, dance troupes, and lion dance teams. This year’s celebration promises to showcase over 70 cultural groups from diverse communities, bringing a vibrant display of dance troupes, marching bands, martial arts performances, and the largest assembly of traditional lion dance teams in Canada.

Join the residents of Tapestry at Arbutus Walk as we experience the mesmerizing sounds of the Goldenpearl Ensemble as they showcase the beauty of the Chinese windpipe, violin, and flute. Created over a decade ago by Ruan Artist and Zhimin Yu, the ensemble promises to fill the air with harmony and joy.

Join the VDICSS community and Elks Lodge #45 as they celebrate the Year of the Dragon at their Embrace the Nations event, highlighting Lunar New Year. Enjoy a taste of diverse cuisines, music, and festivities.
February 9| HUB International Theatre | 9201 Corbould St, Chilliwack
Come enjoy an exciting and fulfilling day with friends and family while celebrating the 2024 Lunar New Year at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. The day starts with a traditional lion dance, followed by unique Chinese cultural & art exhibitions. Programs such as Chinese Kung-fu, dance, and music shows will be performed throughout the day, and make a stop at the festival market, where local businesses and Chinese restaurants present their goods and services for refreshment and enjoyment. There will also be a lucky draw, a silent auction, and much more! The stars light up the evening to celebrate and welcome the Year of the Dragon on the HUB International Theatre stage, bringing spectacular Chinese traditional dance, singing and music shows to you!
