Vancouver-based independent artist bbno$ (pronounced “baby no money”) is rapidly becoming a globally recognized name, and 2025 promises to be a big year in his already impressive career. Fresh off the success of multiple chart-topping hits, amid an international tour, and with a rapidly growing social media presence, bbno$ has started the new year strong with a JUNO Awards nomination in the TikTok JUNO Fan Choice category. This is his seventh nomination at the prestigious awards, and his third in the category. On March 13, 2025, the JUNOS announced that bbno$ will be performing at this year’s awards show.

bbno$ first burst into the global spotlight in 2019 with the iconic single “Lalala,” made in collaboration with Y2K. Quickly becoming a viral sensation, the song is hailed as one of the first ever TikTok hits and achieved multi-platinum status globally. It garnered attention from major publications, including Rolling Stone, which granted bbno$ a spot on their 2019 “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” list and dubbed him a “Viral Pioneer”. As TikTok continues to be a key driver in shaping music trends, bbno$ consistently proves himself to be ahead of the curve through his strong ability to craft addictive hooks and innovative beats, and a distinct sense of humor.

The rapper-singer-songwriter’s breakthrough year came in 2021, with the release of his fifth studio album, “Eat Ya Veggies”, consisting of 12 tracks of undeniable energy and fun. “Eat Ya Veggies” earned a nomination for Rap Single of the Year at the 2021 JUNO Awards, which also provided bbno$ with the opportunity to perform at the ceremony broadcast. The single “edamame” became a global hit, going 6x Platinum in several countries, and earning Gold certification in the United States. This success opened the door to international performances, even more collaborations, and participation in high-profile events like Coachella, the Streamy Awards, and late-night television appearances, including a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

bbno$ aptly maintained momentum, with 8 albums released in 6 years. His most recent album, 2023’s “Baby Gravy 3” is the third made in collaboration with frequent partner Yung Gravy. The project fueled a successful international tour and boosted bbno$’s social media presence, gaining over 2.2 million new followers across platforms. More recently, 2024 viral fan favorite song “it boy” received nearly 250 million views across over 1 million user-generated TikTok videos, growing his international fanbase exponentially.

As the 2025 JUNO Awards approach, bbno$ continues bridging the gap between streaming culture and real-world success. His musical versatility, unique sense of humor, and innovative promotion strategies make him a true case study in how to succeed independently in the modern music landscape.
