The Polaris Prize is Canada’s top musical accolade, a prize that annually honours and rewards artists who produce Canadian music albums of distinction. A select panel of music critics judge and award the $50,000 Prize without regard to musical genre or commercial popularity. A long-list of 40 nominees was announced in June, followed by a select short list, announced July 13, 2023. The Polaris Prize winner is awarded at the Polaris Gala, hosted September 19, 2023.

Congratulations to these B.C. artists nominated to the short list:

Dan Mangan, Being Somewhere

Snotty Nose Rez Kids, I’m Good. HBU?
