B.C.’s Creative Industries Show Up for Pride 2026

Each August, more than 100,000 people gather in Vancouver to celebrate the city’s annual Pride Parade. Vancouver was the first Canadian city to host a Pride parade, with an unofficial march taking place as early as 1978; the event gained official recognition from the municipality in 1981. In the decades since, the parade and its surrounding festivities have grown into the large-scale celebration Vancouver is known for today.

In the spirit of Pride, the city and province host a wide range of vibrant events timed to coincide with the parade each year. These celebrations do more than mark the accomplishments and rights of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community — they also serve as a platform for awareness, solidarity, and acceptance. Here are some standout events happening around Vancouver’s 2026 Pride Parade.
