Canadian folk singer-songwriter from Smithers, BC, Mark Perry, found his early musical inspirations by listening to rock and roll music in his early teenage years. Fast forward to today, it has been 27 years since Mark released his first album, Dreams of the Highway, with West Coast legend Roy Forbes.

A past West Coast Music Awards nominee, Mark’s music is known for incorporating stories about people and natural landscapes, creating authentic and vivid reactions for listeners. For Mark, creating original music that sounds different than anything else in the market is an underlying career objective, which he continues to stay true to.

Coming off the success of Northern Waters, Mark’s 10th album released in March 2016 which sold out standing-room only concerts, Mark is gearing up for the release of his next highly anticipated album, tentatively titled North West and set to be released next spring. North West will be Mark’s 3rd album with producer Jordy Walker.

When asked what advice he would offer to young aspiring Canadian folk artists, Mark insists, “If you love it, then stick with it! If you believe in what you do, then keep going for it.”
