Science World’s Creative Technology Gallery was honoured with a CASCADE award by the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC).
This inspiring exhibit is co-presented by Beedie and RBC, supported by Pacific Economic Development Canada and developed with the participation of Creative BC and the British Columbia Arts Council.
Created in partnership with DigiBC, the Creative Technology Gallery opened to the public in September 2023, welcoming over 200,000 visitors to date and offering a hands-on, immersive experience encouraging exploration of creative technology. NGX Interactive led the construction and design of the project, working closely with Phoenix Labs to utilize assets from their game “Dauntless“. Additionally, this 3,000-square-foot exhibit showcases the abilities of B.C.’s impressive creative tech sector with over 250 creative tech companies contributing to the project.
The Dream Builder: The Shattered Isles is the current show featured by the Creative Technology Gallery and includes three interactive rooms based on the themes of Dream, Build, and Play, as well as a Hall of Heroes that recognizes the accomplishments of local individuals in creative tech. This hands-on, all-ages exhibit also explains the technological processes that bring video games to life.
The CASCADE Awards recognize individuals and institutions from across the CASC community who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and impact in making science approachable, relevant, and accessible.
Tracy Redies, President and CEO of Science World states, “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who continue to put their hearts into building an immersive and inspiring experience to make science fun and accessible for all. We hope the gallery continues to inspire future generations of creative technologists and innovators.”
