DigiBC

Mentorship That Builds the Future of the Creative-Tech Industry in B.C.

British Columbia’s interactive and digital technology industry thrives on innovation, collaboration, and community. At the heart of this ever-changing industry are solo developers and studios of all sizes who are transforming the landscape of B.C.’s creative sector. Hardworking solo developers and studios alike are sculpting the future of games, animation, XR, and more, right here in B.C.

Now, DigiBC is helping to ensure that the next generation of talent is supported at the first step of the journey.

Launching in the fall of 2025, DigiConnect is a mentorship program that aims to assist in the development of early-career professionals in the creative technology community. This new initiative aims to connect talented mentees to industry-seasoned mentors, fostering cross-industry education, building lasting relationships, and promoting long-term career development.

For Mentors

Ever thought or wished you had known some things earlier, or had been given advice when you were starting in your career? Well, this volunteer program will allow you to share your valuable experience with those who need it most. This initiative seeks those who have 4+ years of industry experience in the fields of animation, VFX, video games, or XR to join as mentors. If you are interested in getting involved as a mentor, applications and recruitment are ongoing right now!

For Mentees

Are you ready to receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build new professional relationships, gain invaluable knowledge, and connect with industry experts across multiple disciplines and companies? If you thought ‘yes’ to any of the above, then it sounds like the DigiConnect program is a perfect fit for you. While participation as a mentee will originally be limited to students under DigiBC’s Work Placement Pilot Program, further eligibility guidelines for junior and intermediate roles will be rolled out in the future.
