Meet the BC Creates Associations Serving the Creative Industries

Start 2021 with support and community, meet the six member-based industry associations serving book publishing, interactive and digital media, magazine publishing, motion picture and music and sound recording. These associations work to serve their membership bases to help grow and champion the creative industry sector.

The Association of Book Publishers of BC (ABPBC) is a provincial association of BC owned and controlled book publishing companies. The ABPBC works to support the long-term health and success of the Canadian-owned book industry in British Columbia.

The ABPBC supports the aspirations and activities of its membership through cultural, economic, and political initiatives and engages book-related communities in British Columbia, Canada, and beyond.

 

DigiBC - The Interactive & Digital Media Industry Association of BC

The Interactive & Digital Media Industry Association of British Columbia is a member-supported, non-profit organization based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We were incorporated in 2010 and have previous history under the two banners of the Wireless Information Network (WIN) and New Media BC. We represent the creative tech sector which is made up of the video games and interactive, visual effects, animation, and VR/AR industries.

The Magazine Association of BC is a member-run organization. We unite a diverse network of member magazines and professionals, and develop strategic partnerships, projects and programs that strengthen our industry.

Established in 2002, the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia (MPPIA) is a member-based non-profit organization dedicated to a strong future for BC’s motion picture production sector.

Together, MPPIA’s diverse membership represents the ‘voice and vision’ of the motion picture production industry in British Columbia. MPPIA’s vision is to grow, diversify and promote a competitive and sustainable motion picture industry in BC.

MPPIA members work together to inform, educate, develop and market new initiatives that ensure BC’s motion picture industry flourishes as part of British Columbia’s vibrant, environmentally conscious, knowledge-based economy.

 

CMPA BC - First Weekend Club

The BC Producers Branch (CMPA-BC) is a provincial chapter of the CMPA, working on behalf of British Columbia production companies.
The branch has four key operational priorities: government relations, industrial relations, export and industry development. CMPA-BC has its own eight-member branch council and operating by-laws, which adhere to the regulations and direction of the CMPA national organization.

 

 

Music BC Industry Association | Music Programs, Funding & Resources

Music BC Industry Association is a not for profit association serving the for profit and non-profit music industry, including artists from all genres, industry professionals, service providers, studios, promoters, venues, festivals, producers, agents, managers and educational institutions. Music BC is the voice of the BC Music industry locally, domestically and internationally, through active advocacy for funding, policy, red tape reduction, tax credits and creator’s rights. The organization also advocates at international trade missions to promote business and creative opportunities.
