The opportunity to establish Digital Scapes Studios arose when Techland, a Polish game developer behind such globally recognised titles as “Dead Island” and “Call of Juarez”, was looking to gain access to the Canadian game development talent pool. We started in late 2012 with just 3 employees and quickly grew to 7. We became a major contributor to their latest title, “Dying Light”, by creating the “Be the Zombie” invasion mode for the game.
As AAA titles become ever more ambitious in scope it is more common for the production to span different studios, countries and even continents. Being located in one of the biggest hubs of the global media industry, with a long pedigree of creative talent and a good selection of vocational schools, positions us very well for taking advantage of this trend.
